Tuberculosis Registry

The data displayed in the browser are drawn from the Tuberculosis Registry (TBR), which is part of an information system of public health authorities and is operated as a web-based application with a central database. The Information System of Bacillary Tuberculosis (ISBT) database has become an integral part of the TBR. In the Czech Republic, all detected cases of tuberculosis or other mycobacterial infections are reportable to the TBR. In addition to data from the TBR, the publication uses data from the Czech Statistical Office for per capita calculations.

The administrator of the TBR is the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, namely its Department of Strategy and Management of Protection and Promotion of Public Health; the processor of data on the national level is the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic (IHIS CR), which is responsible for providing and publishing statistical outputs and, together with the National Tuberculosis Surveillance Unit, ensures contacts with international organisations.

The binding regulations for this area are Act No. 258/2000 Coll., on the protection of public health, as amended, Decree No. 306/2012 Coll., on the conditions for preventing the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases and on the hygienic requirements for the operation of health care facilities and social care institutions, Decree No. 473/2008 Coll, on the epidemiological vigilance system for selected infections, as amended, and the standard for providing follow-up care to patients with tuberculosis and other mycobacterial infections and persons at higher risk of developing these diseases (Bulletin of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, No. 7/2016).
